a song with a number in the title
#30daysongchallenge
Now this is a german song: I wonder if this little blog piece should be german? Dear english readers, this language thing is not easy but I’ll give it a try. It feels weird to write about a german song in english. But since music is universal …
...But alive is the name of the band and their song is called „Weniger als 5 Sekunden“ – obivious fact: The song lasts longer that five seconds. A bummer? Not really. I first really listened to this because it was on a mixtape. A real audio cassette! Can you imagine.
I never really know about what is going on in songs (by that I refer to the lyrics) by Marcus Wiebusch – never. I like his songwriting a lot – the stories he tells. But I never decode the meanings. But I never have to – because the feelings that are transported respond directly – always. My mind does not need to know. This song is fast, getting faster and somehow urges you on. I like to think it is about life and decisions and people that might be friends – and disappointments. Even though the lyrics seem to be rather blue, I think the song is still somewhat positive. Awareness of things that go badly is preferable to keep on going without knowing what makes you feel bad.
Also – everything that sucks still hold a moment of light – of something great …
„Nur wegen ihm bin ich hier.
Wegen diesem letzten Moment,
kurz bevor es bitter wird,
Sekunden voller Licht.“
(weniger als 5 sekunden)
